SATURDAY 6th September Bray Pit raking
We’ve moved this task to Saturday because BBOWT’s rakes that we need to borrow are not available on Sunday.

Bray Pit used to be managed by BBOWT, but a few years ago they decided not to renew the lease with Summerleaze. Since then local volunteers have continued the management regime including giving it an annual haircut. The wildflower meadow will be mown during the week and then on SATURDAY WMCV joined by members of Wild Maidenhead will rake off the mowings. This is to reduce the nutrients in the soil and encourage the masses of wild flowers which grow in the summer.

Park in the public car park at Bray Lake which is reached via Monkey Island Lane. The postcode for Bray Lake Watersports is SL6 2EB, but beware of using this with a satnav as some direct you through Bray Village and this route is not accessible for cars. Map, OS SU909786
