17th January The Chestnuts, Warfield
Veteran tree work.

The Chestnuts is a relic from the Warfield Park Estate, these veteran Sweet Chestnut trees are thought to be approximately 200 years old. The Chestnut “walk” once ran from the old ice-house to the woodland edge and must have been quite impressive. These mighty structures now stand quite unexpectedly in the midst of a residential housing estate paying quiet testament to the grand parkland that has long since gone.

Meet at the entrance off Julius Hill, Warfield. If you turn into Julius Hill from Harvest Ride, it is the second turning on your right. If you are coming onto Julius Hill from Horatio Avenue, it is the first turning on your left, once you are on Julius Hill.
